OP Volunteers Join AIA Foodbank Day to Fight Hunger

As first-time AIA Honolulu sponsors, we were excited to jump right in and support an event with real impact. On Saturday, five members of the OP team joined architects, designers, and construction professionals for the AIA Canstruction® Foodbank Volunteer Day — helping pack 6,000 bags of food for local keiki in need.

This year marks our first as an AIA Honolulu sponsor, and with it came the opportunity to choose an event that reflects our values. We selected Canstruction® — a design and build competition that benefits the Hawai‘i Foodbank — along with its companion volunteer day, where the AIA community gathers to tackle food insecurity together.

On Saturday August 9, 2025, five members of the OP team joined fellow AIA members from architecture and design firms, as well as partners from the construction industry, to volunteer at the Hawai‘i Foodbank. Together, we packed 6,000 bags for local school children in need, helping ensure they have consistent access to nutritious food outside of school hours.

It was a meaningful day of teamwork, purpose, and community — and a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when we come together. We’re proud to support AIA Honolulu and the Hawai‘i Foodbank, and we look forward to more opportunities to give back.
